Database Developer
Washington DC-based TIG Global is the market leader in developing interactive marketing strategies for the finest hotels and resorts. We are searching for a seasoned Database Developer to drive the development for multiple, simultaneous projects.
Job Description
The Database Developer will work on the design, development, implementation and support of TIG Global’s database applications. The position will support business functions through use of internally-developed and third-party software solutions and own database and software specifications. The Database Developer will be responsible for developments and enhancements to web software programs and will perform business analysis, database modeling, development and quality assurance testing.

Responsibilities -
Architect, design, implement and tune robust features that perform and scale in a multi-client environment.
- Contribute to the analysis of functional requirements.
- Resolve technical issues in existing applications.
- Define and develop a data migration and integration strategy for multiple data sources.
- Meet with business experts, analyze and document the requirements from a database perspective.
- Perform database design by analyzing business requirements.
- Define architectural standards for database applications.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolution of database issues.
- Assist in the application development, debugging, configuration, and optimization from database perspective.
- Adhere to project plan, schedule, and budget.
- Create and maintain project and support documentation.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex tasks and propose viable solutions for both strategic and tactical development initiatives.
- High degree of initiative and the ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments.
Technical Requirements
- Experience building large-scale data warehouse applications.
- Expertise with design and development for mission critical web-based applications.
- Expertise with relational database concepts including database design, stored procedures, triggers, functions, reporting services, Analysis services.
- Expert understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience with APEX a plus.
- SQL/database performance tuning.
- SOAP/XML/WSDL.
- Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server 2000 and 2005 development / T-SQL / Analytics Services.
- Knowledge of web analytics solutions (Omniture, WebTrends, WebSideStory).
- BS and MS in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years experience working as a database architect, administrator, or developer.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications is necessary.
